This has happened way too many times for me not to
vent about it. No matter where I seem to drive, people love throwing the end of their cigarettes out the window and think nothing of it! People, do
you know how dangerous it is to do this? A few years back I had a car that had a gas leak that I didn’t know about. If I was driving down the road and
the gas leaked out at the exact same moment that someone threw their cigarette out the window and landed on that spot, my car could’ve caught on fire
and exploded and the end result wouldn’t be a good one! I’m sure people who smoke don’t take time to think about that but they really should.
I also feel that if you enjoy smoking in your car,
then keep your windows rolled up because not everyone around you likes the smell let alone what it can do to a non-smoker. I know you have the freedom
to smoke where you want when you’re outside of work or in a smoke free restaurant, but be considerate and think of those who do not smoke, who don’t
care for the smell let alone dying from second hand smoke.
I recently watched my Aunt die from cancer due to
smoking for many years. She had lung cancer and then it spread to her liver, and then to her bones. She wished she had never smoked; especially if she
had known the effects it was going to have on her later in life.
I know it’s the hardest addiction to break, but I
believe anyone who wants to seriously stop smoking, can. You will find a way. You weren’t born smoking, so you can certainly find a way to stop. It
will not only be nice for those who don’t smoke, but you will feel better in the long run and be able to enjoy life a little longer.
Again, if you are smoking in your car, please, use
your ash tray so that those of us who don’t smoke, or have a gas leak don’t have to worry about second hand smoke or having their car catch on fire.
