Interview

Jim Kehoe
Hello, this is Mayzee from Myalumniwebsite.com. Today I am talking to Jim Kehoe, Business Manager of the Plumbing & Pipefitters Union based in Winslow, New Jersey, UA Local 322 that now boasts over 2,000 members. Jim was born in Collingswood, New Jersey, and attended the Mark Newby Elementary School, Collingswood Junior High and Collingswood Senior High, as well as Rutgers University in Camden where he worked his way through school. As a boy, Jim learned the plumbing trade from the ground up working along side his father, a pipefitter, and calls his father his number one mentor. Jim says that whatever expertise his father couldnt provide, he could certainly find among his fathers 14 siblings. In 2002, Jim became Business Manager for the Union where he is constantly on the go directing just about every aspect of union business, including retirement benefits, healthcare, and education. His mission, he says, is above all to make sure there are jobs for his members; and to do it, he makes sure he stays involved with all regional development initiatives such as the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. Jim sees a bright future for unions, principally because of their ability to lead and to adapt to changing times. Now without further adieu, it is my pleasure to present Jim Kehoe.
