A humor show :: Listen
So, it turns out that maybe comedy/news shows are just as funny as they are informative. Lots of people turn to comics for their news, from the Saturday Night Live News Update to the Colbert Report and the Jon Stewart Show, many busy people would rather get a laugh along with their news. According to a study done by a professor at Indiana University, the Jon Stewart Show is as informative as network news.

Julia R. Fox, assistant professor of telecommunications at Indiana University and two graduate students analyzed coverage of the presidential election in network news as well as the comedy show. "It is clearly a humor show, first and foremost," Fox said of Stewart's program. "But there is some substance on there, and in some cases, like John Edwards announcing his candidacy, the news is made on the show. You have real newsmakers coming on, and yes, sometimes the banter and questions get a little silly, but there is also substantive dialogue going on  "It's a legitimate source of news," according to an article on the schools web site.
