Sandra P. Meyer, group vice
president of customer service,
sales, and marketing for Duke Power,
will open the fall 2004 Flores MBA
Distinguished Speaker Series on
October 22, 2004, at the Lod Cook Center on LSU ’s campus at
10:00 a.m.
Duke Power, which marked its
centennial in 2004, is a business
unit of Duke Energy and one of the
nation’s largest electric utilities,
serving more than 2 million
customers in North Carolina and
South Carolina....
Louisiana native Art Babin earned an
associate degree in Business Technology Data
Processing from NTID in 1980 and a bachelors
degree in Computer Systems from RITs College
of Business in 1982.
Now legally blind from Usher syndrome, Babin
has worked at Fidelity National Financial,
Inc., in Little Rock, Ark., as an
application programmer for nearly 20 years.
In the Customer Management and Deposits
Development Group, he works on applications
for tax reporting, commercial and
installment loans, online collection and
demand deposits.
I believe that I have a keen sense of logic
in my mind, and this helps me with my
programming work, says Babin.
As a student, Babin held several key
positions in NTIDs Student Congress (NSC),
including vice president. His prolific
leadership was honored with multiple awards,
including Outstanding NSC Cabinet Member two
years in a row, and NTID Student
Humanitarian in 1982.
